For the last 4 months, it has been very diffucult for us to find soy formula in Haiti. Most of our tiny babies only drink soy formula such as Isomil or Prosobee. They have an allergy to cow's milk based formulas.
After searching for weeks and only finding small amounts in Haiti, our director travelled to the States and while there she went searching for an inexpensive soy formula. She found out that there are no inexpensive baby milk! Everything seems so expensive. Then she found some at Walmart and Target that were extra large cans and it was Soy milk powder! GLA bought 60 cans and she put them in her suitcases and brought it back to Haiti!
Thankfully, those 60 cans have lasted about 3 months and the nursery is just now finishing this formula. We are so thankful that people have donated to help provide formula to orphan babies in Haiti. We used those funds to buy the soy formula for the children. Baby formula is a constant item we must buy weekly in Haiti. Thank you for helping make this possible.
