During Isolation the children would wake up, shower and spend the day outdoors. Outdoors during isolation was staying in front of their houses and spending some time at the playground. We made sure that they were active. The babies and toddlers would wake up, shower have their usual favorite breakfast a nice warm bottle of milk. They would spend the rest of the day sun bathing on the grass and playing outside.
We were lucky enough in Haiti that there was not a huge outbreak. Up to today we only have about 8000 cases of covid-19 since the initial lock down of the country. The biggest issue is that us dollars went up in Haiti. To the point that $1 us was equal to 120 gourdes. So things got more expensive for all the consumers.
The dollar went down considerably but things are still expensive because the sellers are not adjusting their prices. At GLA we buy all of our essentials in gourdes so we are paying the increased percentage. Baby formula is 40% more expensive then before. This is increasing our need for more help just to tend to the needs of our children. Our babies need different formulas to be able to stay healthy. We need specialty formulas for preemies, babies that are lactose intolerant and babies that can only drink soy formulas. We are able to provide this nourishing formula thanks to your help. We are doing our best to make sure that are children are getting what they need to develop and grow.
