Specialty baby formula has the power to give premature babies a fighting chance. In Haiti, many people do not have access to it, and most families have to settle and give their babies powdered milk, which is not formulated for an infant's stomach nor does it have all of the nutrients that they need in order to thrive. We have seen, firsthand, how specialty formula can give a tiny baby, who is unable to breastfeed, the chance to grow and thrive.
On December 27th, Baby G arrived at our NICU weighing 1 lb.15 oz. He was born with multiple limb deformities from a condition known as amniotic banding. His Mom was unable to come with him so he received specialty formula for premature babies. He had an exposed wound site on his leg, so he required additional nutrition and the access to this formula helped to encourage his wound to heal.
This month, thanks to the provision of formula, Baby G graduated from our NICU because he now weighs 7 lbs!
We are so grateful for your partnership with us. Thank you for helping us feed many babies everyday and for giving them all a chance to fight and live as little miracles.
