We have 16 babies who are 6 months and under in our NICU. Three are in incubators and weigh under 4 pounds. Two weigh less than 5 pounds and are not in incubators. Some are growing but most are still little for their ages. Usually we have 10 to 11 babies in the NICU but we have had a lot of admissions this past 2 months.
When we have so many babies, it means we have an increase need for baby formula and the different kinds of formula such as premature, soy, colic, lactose free, allergy specific, etc. These formulas cost more than the normal cow's milk based formulas and are difficult to find in Haiti.
Every donation we receive for this project goes to buy these specialty formulas for our babies. Thank you so much for helping us provide for these babies who come to GLA for help. Most of the babies will be returning to their families but at the moment only one mother is well enough to come and give her baby breast milk.
Please keep these families and babies in your thoughts and prayers. Help us provide for the babies by making a donation to provide baby's milk for them.
