We're rolling through the third week of what stands to be a longer fight to keep a little boy named Lubens alive right now. He's got a hole in his heart which has caused the heart muscle to be larger than it should be, which crowds in on his lungs; which means he's been on and off CPAP, fighting to breathe and get the correct amount of oxygen and pressure forced through his body. He's fighting to live; fighting to get stronger as he labors to pump blood correctly. It's difficult to see him uncomfortable as we wait for the potential medical visa on the horizon that would offer him a chance at life-saving surgery.
One thing that has been the constant is the ability to give him "the good stuff". Because of your continued support for providing the right kind of baby formula to GLA, we're able to choose from an assortment of options when it comes to giving Lubens the correct nourishment that he needs -- and believe us when we say that he uses every calorie just to keep his enlarged heart pushing that blood through his body.
So from all of us here at GLA who are praying and serving and cheering Lubens on, we want to say thank you for giving to this campaign. Your giving makes it possible for us to help more kiddos like Lubens fight just a little harder. We need not only your prayers and continued financial support, but for you to spread the word about the work that GLA is doing on behalf of preemie babies and malnourished children here in the Kenscoff mountains of Haiti.
The work is ever so worth it and we feel blessed to have people like you on our team!
