For the education of Tarahumara indigenous youth

On several occasions the operation carried out community visits, forming small groups of students in their own localities. The students went to the meeting point to be attended
and receive school advice and resolve their doubts. In this way, they were able to continue their studies in the face of the closure of schools and shelters.

In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, indigenous students do not have digital tools and Internet access, which causes scenarios of
educational lag and disadvantages.
However, the Tarahumara Foundation operational team has identified an opportunity to create four contact centers. They are spaces that
have computer equipment and Internet access. From these spaces, students can receive care and advice remotely.
The location of these spaces is in the Sierra Tarahumara, one of them is located in the town of Yerbitas, Guadalupe y Calvo, Chihuahua, Mexico.

As is the case in much of Mexico, face-to-face classes are suspended. Therefore, attention from these spaces is an alternative so that
students can be attended virtually and allow the continuity of their studies and their permanence in school.
During the last quarter of 2021, at least 30 students make use of these spaces. It is estimated that in the coming months the participation
of students in virtual sessions will increase.
Equality? Inclusion? Only if we create development opportunities for these indigenous students and their families in the Sierra Tarahumara.
