Our Global Giving Challenge campaign has raised $7,915 as of July 1st, only $2,000 away from our goal. The funds received this month, $7,500, have been committed to a special fund reserved for the monthly expenses of providing rice and food for the 31 children living at The Cambodian Children's House of Peace. We use 550k of rice each month, at $20 for 50k! Our daily fresh market costs $40/day. Meeting these expenses is one of the major challenges for our young NGO, and this fund brings security for 5 months of daily food and rice!
When our children arrived 19 months ago, they were all undersized for their age, and showed signs of malnourishment, such as swollen bellies and bare ribs. In just that short amount of time since arriving, they have grown tremendously, and now look their age and are healthy! It is clear that good nutrition has made a big difference, and it is thanks to the donations of Friends of the Children of Cambodia from around the world that this has been possible.
I have attached photos of a village child before he arrived and a photo of a child today - you can SEE the difference! It is thanks to you!
So, on behalf of the children, and all the staff of Santepheap (our nickname - Khmer for "Peace!") - THANK YOU!!!
