Update

By Mastora Bakhiet | Project Leader

Our dear friends,

On behalf of Darfur Women Network (DWN), I would like to express my gratitude for your support and donations.  Special thanks to GlobalGiving connecting us with our individual donors and its partners. We are so thankful for the generous donation from the VMware Foundation.

The most important progress is that we are ready for the implementation of the Food Security and Agriculture project after the approval of two documents which are at the Ministry of Family Service and Social Care in N’djamena, Chad.

This Summer, there is a great opportunity for providing inputs for farming such as land, tools, and seeds to support the refugees to grow their own food like millet, sorghum, okra, and some vegetable.

We are not expecting any training at this time because all the refugees were farmers before they left their country.

I was waiting for the presidential election to finish. Yesterday, I talked to our Director of our international Office in Chad. He will check with the official next week.

I hope we receive great news to move to the next step which is formal procedures for renting lands and registration of the poorest families, widows, who take care of orphanages, and disabled women to have first service.
