An Overview of 2018 impact and volunteering

2018 Feeding Program & Feeding Events: More than 15000 meals everday were served across India in 11 states - West Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand, Delhi, UP, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka in partnership with 35 feeding partners. Hot meals were prepared and served to the children to be hunger free and provide them energy to learn play and thrive. The feeding initiative is supported by several corporate partners, schools, individuals and others.

Beyond daily feeding, several cooking activities and celebrations were carried out engaging hotels and other partners:

In partnership with Andaz Delhi, 50 chefs were engaged at several feeding sites and prepared food to treat children with healthy and nutritious meals. This helped in engaging children in healthy eating at the centres where the center cooks learnt new ways to make food tasteirs and wholeme. This also inspired many children to see how being a Chef as a profession they can opt.
15th August was celebrated with influencers from different fields and the children
Nelson Mandela Birthday celebration with her High Commissioner volunteering at the feeding centre and sharing meals with children.
Col. Sanders Birthday where children were engaged in fun activities and special meals from KFC
Big Bazaar Oats breakfast program for 2 months
Summer Hydration program for 3 months where children were fed with Glucon D and water rich food to keep them hydrated and encourage them to continue coming to school.

AddHope Feeding Initiative (Daily Meal support Program for 8000 children in 11 cities) - in partnership with KFC Addhope project, more than 8000 children everyday are served with breakfast and lunches in Delhi, UP, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, & Assam.

Employee Volunteering Initiative: Thousands of Individuals were engaged in volunteering programs through company employee programs and individual volunteering initiatives. Companies like bank of America, American Express, Fidelity International, KFC, Aon, Andaz, Source Fuse Technologies, Jubilant Food Works, Indigo Airlines, IBIS hotel, South African High Commission, volunteered at various feeding centres across 11 cities in the area of education, serving food, hygiene classes, interactive classes, art & craft, music, and several other areas of children's interest.

Events & Advocacy Programs: Participated in the following events to advocate about the need of the hour and why food as a basic need is the key to bring changes in the lives of those who struggle to fulfil the basic needs on day to day basis:

Kerala flood relief under CDRN Program : Responded to 500 families with family relief kits & food at Wayanad district during the Kerala Flood 2018 in partnership with IGSSS supported by KFC.

Winter Relief Program: Hot soup & woollen clothes were distributed throughout the centres to keep the children warm and keep them away from severe cold and flu. The program is mostly supported by individual donors.
