We run a Baby Home caring for orphaned and abandoned babies. We are trying to raise 5,000 to fund their food costs for the next six months. This will improve their health and literally save lives.
Twenty mothers die every day in Tanzania in childbirth - leaving 20 babies at risk of malnutrition and starvation every single day. Formula milk is too costly for the average Tanzanian family to buy so babies are often abandoned. Forever Angels is a safe haven for these children - providing excellent care until they can be reunited with extended relatives or adopted into new families. We are in need of on going running costs to provide food for the children in our care.
The money raised will buy food for the children for 6 months - meaning they can be healthy and have a good start in life.
The first 1000 days of a child's life in terms of nutrition is essential. The babies who come to us have already known what it feels like to be starving. If this is not corrected early on, it can cause stunted growth as well as long term ill health. Ensuring nutritious food is available to these children is life saving.
