We, at Asha Deep Foundation, have a goal to help the needy and we won’t let the pandemic stop us. we gave a response to Covid-19 through the initiative ‘Feed the Daily Wager’ that was launched to help the daily wagers who lost their livelihood.
People like us, who are privileged and can afford food even in these hard times, may not be able to understand the feeling of going hungry because of non-availability of food. But there are people out there who have no food to eat. They can barely afford one meal a day. Being the privileged, it is our responsibility, as a human being, to help them.
The CHILDLINE PROJECT, a project by ADF that lets the Parents and Children connect with the staff of ADF, played a key role in this initiative. The staff at ADF received a lot of concerns from the families of the underprivileged children through the project. Most of the worries were about not having food to eat. Due to the pandemic, the daily wage workers had no work, hence no income and could not afford food for their families. ADF, after hearing these complaints, could not just sit quietly and started providing dry ration kit to the daily wage workers who presently have no jobs.
For the ‘Feed the Daily Wager’ initiative, the ration kits were procured, families in need were identified, and the kits were then distributed to the families. The procurement and the distribution of the ration kits, were done through the donations received. Also, responsible distribution of the ration kits was ensured.
As a result of this initiative, we were able to help many people. This little contribution brought happiness and smiles to the faces of the people. Seeing them happy made our hearts melt. It made us proud of our work and encouraged us to continue to work towards helping the society in the future also.
We want to thank each one of you for your kind donation and support during this crisis period as we all are going through in the present pandemic situation.
During this pandemic situation many people who are differently abled were reached and dry ration was provided to the families.
Radha a young widow with three children was among them who came to receive the dry ration. She was affected by polio and no work. Her three children were so thin and malnourished. She was very very thankful when she got the ration. She said my children can eat full meal today. Very heart touching experience.....
