The ongoing crisis in Haiti has forced thousands of families to flee their homes and seek safety in other parts of the country. Many displaced families are resettling in communities across Southern Haiti, where they often arrive with limited resources and face significant challenges in meeting their basic food and healthcare needs. This project aims to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to 105 displaced families, representing approximately 525 individuals in southern Haiti.
What is the Problem? Haiti is facing a devastating humanitarian crisis driven by escalating gang violence, particularly in Port-au-Prince and Kenscoff. Armed gangs have carried out deadly attacks against civilians, including killings, kidnappings, destruction of homes, and forced displacement. As violence continues to spread, thousands of families have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety and relocate to other parts of the country, including communities in Southern Haiti.
This project will respond directly to the urgent needs of families displaced by gang violence in Port-au-Prince and Kenscoff who are now resettling in communities across Southern Haiti. Ansanm Pou Timoun will provide immediate food and medical assistance to help families meet their most essential needs during this difficult period of displacement. The project will provide food assistance to displaced families, helping them access nutritious food and reducing the risk of hunger and food
The project will contribute to improving the long-term well-being and resilience of families displaced by gang violence and resettling in Southern Haiti. By addressing their immediate food and healthcare needs, the project will help families regain stability and create a stronger foundation for rebuilding their lives. Access to adequate food will reduce food insecurity and help prevent the negative effects of prolonged hunger, particularly among children and other vulnerable family members.
