Every day, displaced families in Nigeria's IDP camps face hunger, uncertainty, and the pain of not knowing where their next meal will come from. Children are among the hardest hit. This ongoing project provides emergency food support to vulnerable households through regular distributions of staple foods and nutrition supplies. By supporting this project, donors will help families survive hunger, restore dignity, and improve nutrition for children, women, and elderly people living in crisis.
Conflict, displacement, inflation, and poverty have pushed thousands of Nigerian families into severe food insecurity. Many IDP camp residents have lost their homes, farms, and income, leaving them dependent on humanitarian aid. Rising food prices continue to worsen hunger, forcing families to skip meals and survive on poor nutrition. Children, pregnant women, and elderly people face increased risks of malnutrition, illness, and long-term health complications without consistent food assistance.
This ongoing project delivers life-saving food aid directly to internally displaced families in selected camps across Nigeria. Food packs containing rice, beans, garri, cooking oil, and other essentials are distributed regularly to vulnerable households. The project prioritizes children, widows, pregnant women, nursing mothers, elderly people, and persons with disabilities. Working with camp leaders ensures transparent distribution, community trust, and effective support for families most affect
Consistent access to nutritious food helps displaced families stay healthier, stronger, and more resilient during periods of crisis. This project will reduce hunger, improve child nutrition, support safer pregnancies, and lower the risk of malnutrition-related illnesses in IDP camps. Over time, healthier families can better focus on education, livelihood recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Continued donor support will help expand food assistance to more vulnerable families across Nigeria.
