Flooding Devastate Communities in Southern Nigeria

Severe flooding has devastated vulnerable communities across Southern Nigeria, leaving families displaced and exposing children, women, older people, and persons with disabilities to serious humanitarian risks. Homes, livelihoods, food supplies, sanitation facilities, roads, and community infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed, increasing the likelihood of hunger, waterborne diseases, and protection concerns. Divine Act Charitable Trust (DACT) is responding by supporting affected communities with emergency relief, hygiene promotion, safe water access, essential household supplies, and community-based protection and recovery activities.

Our immediate priority is to help families meet their most urgent needs while strengthening their ability to recover safely and rebuild their livelihoods. Many affected households have limited resources and cannot afford food, clean water, hygiene materials, temporary shelter, or basic healthcare. Children are particularly vulnerable to disrupted education, malnutrition, illness, and unsafe living conditions. With support from GlobalGiving donors, DACT can reach more flood-affected families with life-saving assistance and practical recovery support. Donations will help provide essential relief items, clean water and sanitation support, hygiene materials, food assistance, health referrals, and community recovery activities.
