Any kid from the urban poor communities in Phnom Penh knows that playing sport is an optional extra. It costs money to buy the gear and then of course to rent the ground to practice or play on.
So … imagine those same kids, not only experiencing the feeling of belonging in a team but having famous players from the Cambodian national team coming to their practices! If that wasn't enough, all 100+ kids in our sports program were invited to a national football game and 22 of them got to walk onto the pitch at the start of the game.
This is all because you have walked this journey with us so that we can walk it with them. You have gone above and beyond - which means that Flames kids are also experiencing football games above and beyond what they ever thought .
Thanks so very much, we appreciate you!
