One Year of the Transit Center

By Galina Liashko | Director of Development and Partnerships

For one year, the Transit Center in Voloske has been a place of safety and support for people forced to leave their homes because of the war in Ukraine.

During this year, 15638 people received support at the center, including 3608 children, 4768 older people and 1128 people with limited mobility. Of all people registered, 4146 arrived through organized evacuation and 11492 evacuated independently. A total of 13934 people used the center as a transit point, while 1704 people stayed for at least one night.

The center works every day and provides essential humanitarian support. During the year, 7232 people received medical services and 14482 people received hygiene assistance. People can also receive food, accommodation, psychological support and help with their onward journey.

More than 40 partner organizations contribute different services at the center. Our team coordinates this support with local authorities and humanitarian partners.

For thousands of people, the Transit Center is the first safe place after a difficult evacuation. Our goal is simple. To make sure every person arriving here is welcomed with dignity, care and support.
