Hello Folks!
This project has been going very well. We haven't been very active on GlobalGiving, as we've been fortunate enough to receive institutional support for othis and other projects that our Organization is developing.
In April we completed a round of First Aid and Injection Therapy training for almost 40 community representatives.
We are currently in the final moments before we sign an agreement with the regional Ministry of Health here in Pucallpa, which will grant us the ability as an institution to provide valid certificates for folks that participate in our trainings. We have been waiting for this before moving forward with more trainings, and in the coming month or two we plan to capacitate another 100-150 people.
We're also working on developing a full curriculum in integrated health, based in the perspectives of traditional/ancestral healers and their medicine practices. We have a nurse working with us in developing the outline of the curriculum, and have held a few meetings and interviews and in the next couple of weeks will be bringing teams of Shipibo health professionals, both modern and traditional/ancestral, together to continue developing this program.
Thanks as always for your generous support. Your donations at the outset were key in getting us going and we're proud of the work we are doing!
Thank you,
Tanya, Romulo, and the Oni Xobo team
