Support 300 girls in Miami to learn about money

Since our last report, Junior Achievement of Greater Miami, Inc. program has progressed. Thanks to our supporters donations, 4 more students received our financial literacy programs. These students attended Poinciana Park Elementary. Poinciana Park Elementary School presently serves approximately 410 students from multi-ethnic backgrounds. 97% of the student population is Black, less than 2% is Hispanic, and 1% is "Other". The percentage of students receiving free and/or reduced priced lunch is at that school is of 96%. 

Thanks to your support, students who participate in Junior Achievement develop the skills they need to be successful in the global marketplace, according to 60 third-party evaluations. Over the past five years, more than 96 percent of JA’s programs have undergone comprehensive evaluations to assess their effectiveness and impact.*

Junior Achievement enhances the relevancy of education, bringing the gap between what students are learning in school and how it can be applied in the real world.

• Teachers (95 percent) and volunteers (92 percent) who have brought the JA experience to the classroom report JA students develop a better understanding of how the real world operates.

• Seventy-six percent of teachers and volunteers-nearly eight out of ten- report that JA better prepares students for the world of work, and 75 percent say that Junior Achievement programs help students realize the importance of staying in school.
