One of our main goals is to ensure all people have the food they need to lead healthy lives. You already know about the work of our Green Light Pantries, which offer only healthy options to their clients. However, we are continually exploring ways to get healthier food to more pantries.
Last week, we spent the morning at Carversville Farm Foundation in Bucks County. Staff harvested beets, carrots and collard greens on a beautiful day and the haul was delivered to food pantries in the region. Farm-to- table at its finest!
In addition, at the beginning of the summer, we again partnered with the Philadelphia Eagles and ACME Markets for an in-store food drive. The result? Nearly 100,000 pounds of healthy food made its way to countless food pantries across the region!
We owe a great thanks to our partners ACME, the Eagles, and Carversville Farm Foundation for helping us to expand access to healthy food for our neighbors.
But we are even more grateful to our supporters. Thanks to YOUR commitment to the fight against hunger, we continue to make strides towards ALL people having the food they need to lead HEALTHY lives!
