ISKCON Varanasi with the help of HOPE WELFARE TRUST is providing free meals to the family members & people waiting in queues at crematoriums/cemeteries for the last rites of the bodies of their loved ones lost to COVID-19. The second wave has hit India very badly and Varanasi is one of the top five affected cities. Currently, the waiting duration is more than 15 hours at most of the places simply to get to cremate the mortal remains of the deceased.
The second wave of COVID-19 has hit India very badly and Varanasi is one of the worst affected cities. The beds in Hospitals are full, patients are not getting oxygen. The situation is horrific. The Death cases are increasing. There are long queues at crematoriums to cremate the body of the COVID-19 deceased. Generally, people have to wait about 15 hours without food for their turn to cremate the bodies of their loved ones.
ISKCON Varanasi with the help of HOPE WELFARE TRUST is providing free meals to family members & people who come for the last rites of their loved ones lost to COVID-19. We are providing free meals for 1000 peoples every day at the crematorium places. We are also providing basic health amenities (masks, sanitizers) to safeguard them against the spread of COVID-19.
We appeal to everyone to kindly team up with us, and provide financial support so that we can enhance this much-needed service to more and more people. We will be attempting to serve to the tune of approximately 2000 meals a day, at Varanasi for the next few months. Please join us in this cause against Corona with your generous help. With this, every week we will be: (1) Distributing 10,000 sanctified free meals. (2) Basic health amenities (mask, sanitizers) to more than 5000 people
