Every home we support runs a food sustainability program. The output varies depending on the land, crops and quality of soil, however homes grow their own fruit and vegetables as much as possible.
As part of this program we have launched our first hydroponic garden at our home in Chanthaburi, so not only does it supply fresh vegetables for the children’s consumption, but any excess is sold at market to generate income to assist with covering operating costs of the home.
The children love being involved with program through tending the crops and taking them to market – it teaches them the value of hard work and rewards, and also teaches them to have a very healthy diet.
