Our feeding programme has now commenced for a sixth school year, however we are urgently seeking donations so that we can continue the programme next term.
We have sufficient funds in place to meet the cost of the programme up until the end of this current term later this month – indeed we have already purchased the food – but without an injection of at least £5,000 in the next few weeks over the Easter holidays it is difficult to see how we will be able to sustain the programme much beyond the first month or so of next term.
Up to now, this programme has been heavily reliant on grant funding but, in addition to having lost an annual grant worth £7,500 this year, a number of other applications (which could have been worth £15,000 in total) have unfortunately not been successful, leaving us unexpectedly and significantly short of funds.
We need your support again now more than ever. Without our feeding programme most of the 2,500 children across our partner schools will go without a meal at lunchtime, severely affecting their learning and education.
We would be grateful for any donation you can give but we are particularly looking for regular, monthly donations to help us improve the long-term sustainability and security of the programme. A donation of just £3/$5 per month is enough to provide three pupils with a daily lunch.
Please help us maintain this vital programme so that we can continue to encourage children to attend school in the first place and help to keep them there throughout the day.
Thank you.
