Give it some thought: what CAN you buy for 18 cents?
Not much by my calculations. Two pieces of Baooka, if they still sell it. One and a half peppermint patty pieces. A Twizzler. That's what I came up with.
Our food pantry, however, can buy a pound of food or three pounds of beverages. We have been utilizing our local Feeding Amercia Food Pantry to keep our food pantry stocked. We are extrememly lucky to have such a resource in our area. Our clients can not shop at Feeding America - but they can access their food through us and the many other partner agencies in our area. Think about how many pounds of food your next Starbucks coffee could buy.
Francis House continues to distribute about $2,500 per month worth of food. Working with a very limited budget, we were able to purchase 3,184 pounds of food during the month of April for less than $250. We take great care in making sure that we can stock our pantry with the limited funds we receive in order to keep our clients from being hungry.
We thank you for the support that you have given us and look forward to completing this project!
