Many households are finding it very difficult to have access to more than two full meal in a day. Taliking to the cheif of Bokova Village in Buea on this issues he inform us that, food production in his village has dropped by more than 80% compared to the previous years. He explained that the major reason is because the area where majority of their farmlands are beeing located are now occupied by armed civilians fighting for independence. The counter attacks from the military made these areas risky zoons and share the local people for going there to farm.
In the past months, we have been using our radio program to raise awareness on the consequences of the political crisis on food security and how this could promote high level of children malnutrition and infant motality. We have also been promoting awareness raising in the communty and working with the local people to advise on alternative strategies they could adopt to ensure food security in their household.
