Recent food security assessments estimate that hundreds of thousands of people in Karamoja are experiencing crisis or emergency levels of food insecurity, with children and pregnant women among the most vulnerable.
Thousands of families in Uganda's Karamoja region are facing severe hunger due to prolonged drought, crop failure, poverty, and livestock losses. Many children are suffering from malnutrition, and vulnerable households often survive on just one meal a day. Without urgent support, more families will face worsening food insecurity, poor health, and children dropping out of school.
