Led by BAMX Puebla with the support of the Fuerza Migrante Foundation, this project expands our "Ruta de la Caridad" into the heart of the Mixteca Poblana. Here, thousands of abandoned grandmothers, grandfathers, and young families face severe food insecurity. Because we rescue surplus food daily, your donation does not buy groceries; it powers the trucks, fuel, and team needed to deliver nutritious baskets directly to the doors of our most vulnerable neighbors.
The Mixteca Poblana is one of Mexico's regions most impacted by migration. While thousands have left to build a better future, those remaining in towns like Izucar, Acatlan, Tehuitzingo, and Chiautla face deep poverty and isolation. Over 80% of households in this region experience food insecurity. The most affected are abandoned elderly residents, many of whom are raising grandchildren alone, single mothers, and community members with disabilities.
We are opening a dedicated "Ruta de la Caridad" delivery vehicle and team specifically assigned to look after the Mixteca Poblana. As a Food Bank, 100% of the food we distribute is rescued at near-zero cost. Your funds will go directly toward overcoming our biggest challenge: logistics. By funding the purchase of a dedicated delivery truck and covering essential operational costs, our team will be able to deliver complete weekly despensas directly to the doorsteps of the most vulnerable.
Beyond immediate hunger relief, the "Ruta de la Caridad" restores dignity and stability to communities fragmented by migration. By ensuring that elderly grandparents and mothers with young children receive consistent nourishment, we improve community health outcomes, reduce emergency medical expenses, and provide peace of mind to our paisanos in the US, knowing their communities and hometowns are cared for with dignity.
