Kigoma Region hosts thousands of refugee children who face daily challenges in accessing adequate food and clothing. According to UNHCR, Tanzania hosts 150,000 refugees, many of whom depend on humanitarian assistance. This project will provide nutritious meals and essential clothing to vulnerable children living in refugee camps. The initiative aims to improve children's health, dignity, and well-being. Support from donors will help ensure that children receive the basic necessities for thriving
Many refugee children in Kigoma suffer from food insecurity and lack sufficient clothing. Limited resources force families to prioritize survival needs, leaving children vulnerable to hunger and exposure to harsh weather conditions. Poor nutrition affects physical growth, learning ability, and overall health. Inadequate clothing can lead to illness, discomfort, and social exclusion. Humanitarian resources remain insufficient to meet the growing needs of refugee populations
This project will distribute nutritious food packages and appropriate clothing to refugee children in Kigoma camps. Community volunteers will identify the most vulnerable children and ensure fair distribution of support. Food assistance will include staples and nutrient-rich items to improve child nutrition. Clothing packages will include shirts, trousers, dresses, sweaters, and footwear. The project will work closely with local partners to maximize efficiency and reach.
Improved nutrition will support healthy growth and stronger immunity among refugee children. Access to proper clothing will enhance comfort, protection, and self-esteem. Better health outcomes will enable children to participate more actively in education and community life. Families will experience reduced financial pressure and increased resilience. The project will contribute to a healthier and more hopeful future for refugee children and their communities.
