Project Report: Hope Amid Hunger in Makoni District
Organization: Sustainable World Zimbabwe Trust
When the El Niño drought struck Makoni District, many families lost their harvests—and with it, their main source of food. Today, young children are the most affected, with many facing hunger and malnutrition.
In June 2025, we received a $100 donation, which we used immediately to provide emergency food assistance. We purchased maize, beans, cooking oil, and salt, and distributed these as handouts to vulnerable families with young children.
For those households, this was more than just food—it was relief, dignity, and hope during a very difficult time.
However, the reality on the ground remains harsh.
Many families are still struggling daily to find enough to eat. Children under five continue to face the risk of malnutrition, and without consistent support, their health and development are at serious risk.
Our goal is to provide monthly food hampers to 500 children and their families, but we cannot do it alone.
Why Your Support Matters
A one-time donation helped us reach a few families—but recurring support can transform entire communities.
With consistent funding, we can:
-
Provide reliable monthly food supplies
-
Prevent child malnutrition
-
Support over 1,000 indirect beneficiaries
-
Restore hope in drought-affected communities
A Call to Action
We are urgently appealing for monthly donations to sustain this initiative. Even a small contribution can help feed a child and protect their future.
Together, we can turn small acts of kindness into lasting impact.
