Olá! Tudo bem?
Here we are again, with another update on the wonderful activities we do at our special Centro de Acolhida, here in the heart of bairro Betania.
In our last report, we said that this was a special year for our centre, and that the best was yet to come... Well, get ready to read all about a very special day!
Here's what you need to know about Brazil: over the second week of February, the whole country literally stops for five days of pure celebration of life: the world-known Brazilian CARNIVAL! The whole city of Belo Horizonte (children, teenagers, adults, elderly, men, women, pets... literally everybody!) was dancing, singing, enjoying the beautiful summer weather and having fun with colorful costumes and masks.
At our centre, we also celebrated Carnival in our own special way. Our thoughtful educators and coordinators organized a special party with music, dances and games in the garden. We put on glitter, make up and our costumes and jumped and danced for two hours straight! We even had colorful bracelets that lit in the dark! As for our afternoon snack, they treated us with popcorn and hot dog, yum.
We saw a lot of spider men, some princesses, even a Spongebob! And the bravest even painted their hair blue!
The day was full of joy, laughters and memories that we will remember forever.
Thank you for reading our updates, and for your precious and constant support. This would not be possible without you!
Talk to you very soon!
