Feed 150 vulnerable childrens from Belo Horizonte

I have a question, “Have you guys already had the chance to go to a real circus with the colorful big tent and all the animals? It must be wonderful, I never went, I just saw it from the car window one day I was going with my mom to the city center. I found a few videos on Youtube and I was absolutely enchanted by everything the artists do...

But you know what happened before Christmas? An amazing thing!!!!!!! In the Centro de Acolhida we were proposed to do a CIRCUS workshop!!!! Yes, it's really true, and I was able to participate in the workshop, just me who never got into the tent of a real circus.

Our teacher is really nice, and he taught us a lot of things. In the Christmas party, where so many people came, we did our first real circus performance, with music, special effects and teh educators even put up a tent with the same colors as the circus tent I had seen....

And you want to know a secret ?? I was the main protagonist!!!! Look at me there with the hat is...I was super excited along with my friends...but it was a success. I hope one day to be in a real circus, and not just as a spectator but as an artist.... You guys cheer for me ...

This report brings two pieces of news that happened this month at the reception centre. The first is that October for every Brazilian child means Children's Week| and therefore games and parties dedicated only to them. In fact, we organised a party with inflatable games, chips, hot dogs, candyfloss, and the drawing of three bicycles for three children from the centre.

On another day, we managed to take two of our classes to the cinema to see the film Wild Robot... it was unforgettable to see the expressions of wonder on the faces of so many of them as they entered a cinema hall for the first time.

But October also meant a painful event. A pair of twins who had been attending our centre for two years were left fatherless. The mother had already abandoned them years ago because she was a drug addict, and the father, although in a very vulnerable situation due to alcohol, was trying to educate these two children. Now these twins are living with their 16-year-old sister, but they are finding in the centre that family that life did not give them. The social assistant immediately took action together with the educators to help the older sister as well, to look for the best way to ensure a dignified life for these three brothers.

This is what the reception centre is all about, the smiles in front of an ice cream or a bucket of popcorn at the cinema, but also the consoling hugs of the educators for these twins, the commitment of a social worker to give dignity to every family, the certainty that everything will be done to ensure that no child is left to himself.
