Report on Vegan Farm Animal Sanctuary, Dumai, Riau, Indonesia, June 2020
It has been a difficult few months for the Farm Sanctuary because it has been rainy season. Torrential downpours daily have turned the pig enclosures into complete mud holes. There is not enough sunshine to dry out the space between rain falls so the pigs are stuck in a wet environment all the time.
Electricity was finally brought into the area, but its power has been limited and intermittent at best. The power problem stems from the fact that the Sanctuary is located in a very isolated area. The Farm owners are hoping that the power will improve over the coming months, as promised by the local power company.
The donations raised to date have been used to enlarge the pig enclosures and to build the poles and infrastructure needed for electricity.
The Sanctuary is desperate for funding to be able to feed the animals and to make more improvements to the enclosures. More photos and daily updates can be found on Facebook and Instagram under My Home My Animals Haven.
We thank all the kind people that have supported the Farm Animal Sancatuary with donations.
