Recent Update: Change in Lead Organization
We would like to inform all donors and stakeholders that Collective Action for the Diaspora is no longer the lead organization managing the funds and overseeing program delivery for the Family Support Program. All operations—fund management, implementation, monitoring, and reporting—have now been taken over by a new lead entity. We updated all documentation to reflect this change and ensure transparency in how contributions are used, an aspect that has not changed in the handover of the project to on-ground partners like Jabalia Rehabilitation Society and Kotof El-Khair.
What the Program Does
Supports families in need through financial assistance, food, shelter, and/or other basic needs.
Helps build resilience by linking families to community resources, local services, and other support systems.
Prioritizes the most vulnerable households—those with children, elderly relatives, or with limited means to recover from crisis.
Progress & Impact
Number of families served to date: ~400
Total funds raised vs. funds disbursed: $1,148--all donated funds disbursed to project.
Geographic areas covered: Central Governorate
Next Steps & Implementation Under New Lead
With the change in management, here are the anticipated implications and actions:
Governance & Accountability
VCS Academy will still be responsible for audited financial reporting.
Continued vigorous monitoring and field supervision to ensure funds are used as intended.
Program Continuity
Beneficiaries currently receiving assistance under the program will continue without interruption.
Any planned activities (e.g. distribution rounds, support services) will proceed, possibly with adjustments as needed. CURRENTLY, this aid initiative is in dire need of funds.
Donor Communication
All donor communications (updates, receipts, progress reports) will continue to be sent through GlobalGiving and VCS Academy.
The GlobalGiving project page and all formal reports will be updated to reflect the change in lead entity.
Transparency Measures--Can still be found on this project's OpenCollective
