The 1st of December fast approached and we are set and ready to start offering Emergency Beds for those that are Rough Sleeping in Leicestershire.
Although we have not yet hit our target, we have been overwhelmed by the support from the community. We have some cash donations to add to the total, and are hopeful we can make the rest of the money in time to keep this going. Particularly, with a team registered for the Santa Fun Run and an upcoming Bag Pack in Loughborough Morrisons on the 11th December. We are also receiving some great donations from Cake, have had a large donation from the Independent Testing Company and have received food vouchers from Morrisons towards the Christmas Lunch. We also hope to be in the Loughborough Echo this week where they will be sharing the work of the #festiveshelter campaign.
Clothes donations continue to come in and tomorrow we go to Mountfields Lodge School to launch a food appeal to help those less fortunate. There have also been a number of other fundraising events to help the homeless with Helping Handbags, Knit and Natter, Charnwood Borough Council, Loughborough High School, NCS, Loughborough University and more all chosing to support the homeless. It was lovely to even see ex-residents come back and donate to the campaign to help others.
We are looking for volunteers at the moment. To help with the Bag Pack on 11th December and over the fesitve period to help at the centre. If you think you may be able to help, please email me at Rachel.Hall@falconsupportservices.org.uk.
Your support makes all the difference. If you can share the campaign and encourage others to support us it would be much appreciated. We hope you are having a good start to the festive season. Thank you.
