Bimini Responsible Angling Youth Workshop

By Nicholas C. Metropulos | Executive Director

Stingray Encounter
Stingray Encounter

This past March, a group of F4FN volunteers traveled to Bimini, Bahamas to lead our Responsible Angling Education Program with 15 students at the Louise McDonald High School in Alicetown, Bimini. This hands-on, adventure packed program featured discussions about overfishing and ocean pollution as well as a beach clean up, stingray encounter, and a deep-sea fishing trip.

We could not have offered this amazing program without the help of our partners in Bimini. We would like to thank Bimini Big Game Club, Lend a Hand Bahamas, Valentine Thomas, Leonard Stuart and many others for their generosity and aid in offering this program. Last, but definitely not least, we would like to thank all of you for your support of Fishing for Families in Need. Without your help we could not have provided such an awesome experience to 15 well deserving kids.

The journey to stop the degradation of our oceans is long, but through these programs we are making a long-term positive impact on the next generation of environmental stewards. If you would like to see us continuing these amazing initiatives, I highly encourage you to consider supporting our efforts.

Sincerely,

Nicholas C. Metropulos, Executive Director
