Dear Supporter,
Our project, “New Eyes for Kentucky” continues to impact the lives of Kentucky residents with the simple, yet critical, tool of eyeglasses. For 92 years, New Eyes has made a postive impact on the in the lives of financially struggling children, adults and seniors and we continue to empower individuals by providing access eyecare and clear vision through the simple, yet critical, tool of eyeglasses.
Since we began our New Eyes for Kentucky project in 2019, we have raised $8,200 from GlobalGiving. That translates into new eyeglasses and improved vision for 360 Kentuckians - 39 children,190 women and 131 men thanks to your help!
Our collaboration with over 25 Kentucky social service agencies, schools and health advocacy groups provides their clients, students and patients with new eyeglasses. In the last year, New Eyes assisted over 704 Kentucky residents at a cost of $16,576. We assist the working poor with no insurance coverage and seniors, who are covered by traditional Medicare health insurance which does not pay for eyeglasses.
According to the CDC, over 11 million Americans living at or below the poverty level need but cannot afford eyeglasses. New Eyes depends on partners like GlobalGiving, helping those in need get access to clear vision so they can lead independent and successful, lives. Together we are changing lives one pair of glasses at a time!
With deep gratitude,
Jean Gajano, Executive Director
