Eye Donation Drive in 164 villages -Chiplun, India

It's been a wonderful experience of both field work and communicating with donors through GlobalGiving platform though out the year. We thank donors for the continued support. Here is an update for this period

Awareness Drives

• Vasudev community, known as Vishnu's avatar, travel through villages to create spiritual awareness. Sahyadri got help from Mr. Nitin Pawar, a representative of Vasudev community to spread awareness about eye donation in the region. The YouTube link - https://youtu.be/npzvixmVKqY
• India's mobile density is more than 80% and ranks in top five countries. To take advantage of this technology, Sahyadri developed a mobile application which can be downloaded from Google App Store. The application was lauched and local newspapers have given adequate publicity to this avenue which has boosted eye donation registrations.
• Sahyadri celebrated "World Eye Donation Day" on June 10th. Awareness drives and registrations were held throughout the region. Sahyadri also felicitated relatives of eye donors of this year as ambassadors of this campaign.

As of Jul 2016 Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra is short of $1,102 from our set donation target. We request donors to spread the word about our efforts and add more donors to this campaign.
