We would like to thank you for supporting Eye Donation Drive in Chiplun, India. We also thank GlobalGiving for providing us the platform to reach all donors.
Your support has helped us to reach our funding target and continue our work in the region.
We thank all those families who took the decision of donating cornea after the demise of their loved ones. Their timely decision remains inspirational for all. We also thank local governing bodies, hospitals, eye specialists from the region, Government doctors, officials to support the eye donation drive, cornea collection, and subsequent transplant.
Here is the List of our work during the past one year
Awareness Drives:
1. A celebration of “World Eye Donation Day” Sahyadri celebrated world eye donation day on the month of June. Awareness drives and registrations were had throughout the region.
2. On occasion of “World Eye Donation Day,” Sahyadri organized Competitions like Essay competition, Slogan making competition, poem competition, drawing competition. For this competition, the given subject is ‘care of eyes and Importance of eyes’.
3. Sahyadri also facilitated relatives of donors of this year as ambassadors of this campaign.
4. Donors who had donated their eyes were praised through the classical dance (Kathak Dance) perform by 'Nrutyamalhar Dance Academy'.
5. Awareness rally:
A 15 km rally to create awareness on eye donation flagged off by Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra and Organ and Body donation Organisation, Mumbai in the Chiplun city.
6. Importance of Eye donation being told by through street play performed by 'Snehavardhini Mahila Mandal'.
