Neema plays a transformative role in the lives of the young women we welcome, but our outreach work with our students’ families is worth keeping expanding. Through guardians’ days or home visits, our students’ families are getting the emotional and spiritual support they desperately need. In 2024, we started offering monthly counseling workshops to our students’ guardians on the first Friday of the month. Our team of counselors addresses topics such as being a role-model to your children, domestic abuse and its effects on children, etc.
These workshops are also a way for guardians to share with other about their own challenges in a very safe environment. One guardian comments on the benefits of the workshops is below: “In terms of attending the guardian meetings, I have been an active attendant and the counselling lessons have helped me build healthy relationship with my family and neighbors.
We realize that there is a strong need for further trainings in the community.
