Code.org is dedicated to expanding participation in computer science by making it available in every school and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color.
The Hour of Code campaign is aimed at demystifying computer science by encouraging students to try just one hour of code. The first Hour of Code video with over 11M YouTube views features President Obama and others emphasizing the importance of learning how to program or code.
As of September 2014, 43 million students have now tried an Hour of Code - 48% of whom are female!
By the end of this year, we aim to reach 100 million. Help us reach our goal by signing up or sharing this year's video.
