Dear Donors and Friends,
We are thrilled to share the latest educational milestones across our classrooms in Canaima and Los Roques!
Thanks to your support, we have restructured our academic model to offer a more dynamic, practical, and community-centered learning experience.
PEDAGOGICAL INNOVATION: ACTION-ORIENTED LEARNING
Our curriculum now integrates two tailored methodologies adapted to each stage of development:
Seeds & Sprouts (1st–4th Grade): Using Total Physical Response (TPR), our youngest learners explore English through movement and play. In our latest visits, students practiced have/has by assembling interactive schoolbags and introduced themselves using homemade monster puppets.
Trees & Big Kids (5th Grade–High School): Driven by the Task-Based Approach (TBA), older students focus on real-world communication, mastering conversational roleplays about daily routines and free-time activities.
4-WEEK PROJECT CYCLES & BALANCED ASSESSMENT
Each unit now follows a 4-week cycle where lessons culminate in low-pressure, hands-on miniprojects. Additionally, addressing feedback from local parents, we reinforced our evaluation framework to ensure consistent homework review and closer academic tracking.
COMMUNITY IMPACT: EMPOWERING LOCAL ARTISANS
Expanding our reach beyond the classroom, we launched an English initiative for local women artisans, equipping them with practical phrases, pricing vocabulary, and conversational skills to share their cultural heritage directly with visitors.
Every puppet created, dialogue mastered, and artisan supported is possible thanks to your commitment.
Thank you for empowering our communities to build their own future!
Warm regards,
The E-VEN Project Team
