This project will help Angels of Salvation purchase a wheelchair-accessible Citroen Jumper for social transport and emergency evacuations in Ukraine. Its 400 kg hydraulic lift and secure spaces for two wheelchairs will enable safe trips to hospitals and evacuations from high-risk communities. From 2022 through December 2025, our teams evacuated 65,682 people. In 2025 alone, 805 of 11,622 evacuees belonged to groups with limited mobility.
Ordinary vehicles fail to safely carry wheelchair users or people who cannot transfer independently. Social workers often have to lift a person and their wheelchair by hand, risking falls, injury, pain, and loss of dignity. The lack of accessible transport also delays urgent evacuations from dangerous communities and limits access to hospitals and other essential services. Standard buses and vehicles are especially difficult for people who cannot use steps.
Donations will fund a Citroen Jumper L3H2 adapted for social transport and evacuation. Its 400 kg rear hydraulic lift, two wheelchair restraint systems, handrails, anti-slip floor, safety belts, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and emergency exit will enable safer boarding and travel. Angels of Salvation will use it for hospital and essential-service trips with social workers and for urgent evacuations from high-risk communities.
The vehicle will strengthen Angels of Salvation's ability to serve older people, wheelchair users, and people with disabilities in daily care and emergencies. It will make access to hospitals and social services safer and more dignified, reduce evacuation delays, and protect passengers and staff from injuries caused by manual lifting. One adapted vehicle will provide accessible transport for years and help ensure that limited mobility does not leave anyone without assistance.
