Dear Friends and Project Supporters,
We are excited to share with you the recent launch of an internationally recognized educational innovation known as “Tutorial Relationships.” Tutorial Relationships is an alternative learning method that emphasizes the development of autonomous learning skills. It comes to life through the one-on-one “tutorial relationship,” in which a tutor guides a student through his or her own process of learning through reflections and questions. Students themselves then become the tutors and the knowledge transfer continues.
In a September 2015 report, UNICEF includes Tutorial Networks among four innovative learning models that have changed education paradigms in the region. Evaluations show that students who learn via the Tutorial Relationships model build self-confidence and significantly improve academic performance. Dropout rates also fall dramatically.
The Tutorial Networks model has been implemented at 9,000 schools in Mexico over the last decade and has now spread to Singapore, Thailand, and San Diego. The good news is that thanks to support from donors like you, we have launched the Tutorial Relationships pilot program at seven vulnerable schools.
We invite you to see firsthand the positive impact that our Tutorial Networks pilot program is having in the Araucanía region (Chile’s poorest) via this short video.

We invite you to follow along on Educación 2020’s social media platforms and website as the pilot programs expands!
Thank you again for your support!
All the best,
The Educación 2020 Team
