Dear friends,

Thank you very much for the continued support of our work. Several things have happened these past three months!

Nationally, we are experiencing a strong discussion on education. In May, the first two bills of Education Reform were sent: one for the creation of a new institutional framework for Early Childhood Education, and the second project, to end the profit, copayment and selection. In this context, we have been actively participating in debates, interviews, writing columns, among other things, always with the intention of contributing to the national debate and inform the public about what is happening. An example of this: in June we were invited to speak about the project that ends with profit, copayment and selection to the Education Commission of the House of Deputies. On the other hand, we have news in relation to our fieldwork. The support that we provide to public institutions, through the Center for Leadership belonging to Educación2020, has grown and today we are working in different parts of the country, mainly in Santiago, La Serena, Valparaiso and Araucanía. The big news is that we have our first office outside of Santiago: in Araucania!, region where we are accompanying seven Professional- Technical High Schools.

Finally, we want to tell you that The Great Place to Work in Chile, awarded to the top 25 medium-sized enterprises and Education 2020 won the 7th place. This makes us very happy and we believe that this reflects the motivation that exists in the Foundation to continue working to improve the education in Chile!

Educación2020 en el debate sobre la Reforma Educativa, nueva oficina  y ¡mucho más!

Queridos amigos,

Muchas gracias por el constante apoyo a nuestro trabajo. ¡Varias cosas has sucedido estos últimos tres meses!

A nivel nacional, estamos viviendo un fuerte debate sobre educación. En mayo fueron enviados los dos primeros proyectos de ley de la Reforma Educacional: creación de una nueva Institucionalidad de Educación Parvularia y término al lucro, copago y selección. En este contexto, hemos estado activamente participando en debates, entrevistas, escribiendo columnas, entre otras cosas, siempre con la intensión de aportar a la discusión nacional e informar a la ciudadanía acerca de lo que está sucediendo. Un ejemplo de esto: en junio fuimos invitados a exponer a la Comisión de Educación de la Cámara de Diputados sobre el proyecto que termina con lucro, copago y selección. Por otro lado, tenemos una gran noticia en relación a nuestro trabajo en terreno. El acompañamiento que hacemos a través del Centro de Liderazgo de Educación 2020 a Establecimientos Públicos, ha ido creciendo y hoy estamos colaborando en varias partes del país, principalmente en Santiago, La Serena, Valparaíso y La Araucanía. La noticia es que tenemos nuestra primera oficina fuera de Santiago: ¡en La Araucanía!, región donde estamos apoyando a siete Liceos Técnico Profesionales.

Por último, contarles que Great Place to Work Chile, premió a las 25 mejores medianas empresas y Educación 2020 obtuvo el 7mo lugar. ¡Esto nos llena de alegría y creemos que refleja la motivación que existe en la Fundación de seguir trabajando por mejorar la educación en Chile!
