Jabal Mohsen - Establishment of a Municipal Sports Field is a community-led initiative under the Tripoli Peace Initiative, funded by the United Nations' Peacebuilding Fund and implemented by IOM with SHIFT and the Municipality of Tripoli. The project aims to create a safe and equipped municipal sports field for children and youth, promoting recreation, wellbeing, social interaction, and community engagement.
Jabal Mohsen lacks adequate public recreational and sports facilities, limiting opportunities for children and youth to engage in safe and positive activities. The absence of such spaces contributes to idle time, negative behaviors, and reduced opportunities for healthy social interaction, physical activity, and community cohesion within the neighborhood.
The project will establish a municipal sports field equipped for recreational and sports activities. The space will provide children and youth with a safe environment to develop skills, engage in positive social interaction, and participate in healthy activities. The initiative also encourages community participation and strengthens local engagement through a shared public space.
