This project aims help 5,000 girls to reduce sexual violence against girls in Tanzania through education, awareness, and community protection programs. According to World Bank there 17% of sexual violence in Tanzania, It will empower girls with knowledge about their rights and safety. The project will also involve parents, teachers, and community leaders in preventing abuse. Support services such as counseling and reporting systems will be strengthened to protect survivors
Many girls about 17% in Tanzania face sexual violence, harassment, and exploitation at home, in schools, and within communities. Fear, stigma, and lack of awareness prevent many victims from reporting abuse. Poverty and harmful cultural practices also increase the risk of violence against girls. Limited access to legal protection and support services leaves many survivors without justice or care.
The project will conduct awareness campaigns in schools and communities to educate people about girls' rights and gender-based violence. Training programs will teach girls self-protection skills and encourage boys and men to respect women and girls. Safe reporting channels and counseling services will be created for survivors of violence. Partnerships with local leaders, schools, and organizations will help strengthen child protection systems.
The project will create safer communities where girls can live and study without fear of violence. More girls will remain in school and have better opportunities for education and future employment. Increased awareness will help reduce harmful cultural practices and promote gender equality. In the long term, empowered girls will contribute positively to the social and economic development of Tanzania
