Eradicate Female Genital Mutilation in Kenya

This quarter marks a significant acceleration in efforts to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) across Kenya. Increased community demand and sustained supporter engagement have positioned the program for one of its largest expansions to date. More girls are gaining access to education, protection, and alternative pathways for their futures.

Program Growth & Expansion

• 4,000 girls enrolled for 2026 programming
• Expansion into 4 new counties: Narok, Samburu, Baringo, and Kisii
• Growth driven by local leadership demand, including direct invitations from Anti-FGM advocates

What began as a targeted initiative is rapidly evolving into a broader national movement.

Implementation Snapshot

• 50 schools actively implementing programming
• 46 new schools launching this year
• 19 field officers and supervisors supporting delivery on the ground

Each school serves as a safe, supportive environment where girls can build confidence, stay in school, and resist FGM.

Field Operations

The field team continues to expand to meet rising demand. Core activities include:

• Enrolling and mentoring girls
• Engaging families and building community trust
• Partnering with educators and local leaders
• Providing direct support to at-risk girls
