By David Umana | Founder and coordinator
Thanks to the generous donations through our first GlobalGiving project we now completed the first part of our plan.
We donated over 10 tablets to families in the towns of Villa de Leyva and Choconta, benefiting over 25 children so far.
In our immediate plans for the month of September we will be donating more tablets for our Chocontò community.
As you will remember in Villa de Leyva we are helping children attending the public school ITINAR (Instituto Tecnologico Antonio Ricaurte) where we alredy helped over 20 families and 25 children improving their acces to virtual education.
Our next goal to be attained in September 2021 is to provide a fix point of WiFi internet at school's country building that will allow more than 500 children to get connected to the world wide web allowing them to be more efficient when accesing and delivering their homework and also get them closer to graduation and decreasing school desertion rates.
Through our previous fund raising campaign we came across a wonderful project coordinated by APROCAM (asociación de productos orgánicos y compromiso medio ambiental) that has close contact with children and youths living in the outskirst of Chocontá, Cundinamarca.
These children didn't have a proper device in which to study and benefited from Educaiton donations and now 5 families and over 10 kids have a tablet that they will use to school (elementary and high school) and also for social projects as few of the girls in the group are actively involved in ecological commitees.
We will continue our labor and keep you informed on our actions and how we are using your donations to improve lifes and futures of children and families in Colombia.
Thanks so much!
