Chronic treatment fails to reach the poor in Palestine. Gift of the Givers Healthcare project in Palestine will continue to provide essential medical services to Palestinians who, through poverty, do not have access to suitable treatment. Patients will receive subsidized, life-saving treatment at private facilities as the public healthcare sector is under-resourced and under-staffed due to the unrest and economic crisis.
Palestine's public healthcare sector is under-resourced and lacks sufficient medical personnel to meet the needs of its population. On the other hand, the private sector is well established, yet too expensive and unattainable for the poor. Chronic treatment is, therefore, not reaching the poor which results in patients succumbing to their illnesses.
Our Healthcare project serves the poor with special priority given to those worst affected by the humanitarian crisis. Gift of the Givers subsidizes treatments that the poor wouldn't ordinarily be in a position to receive. This is done at private facilities that includes services such as: Physical Therapy, Medical Examinations, Surgical Procedures, Provision of Medication, Consultations, and Care-giving for Disabled and Elderly.
Gift of the Givers healthcare project is life-saving for the poor. Pain and illness is abated and lives are preserved through the treatment and medical procedures performed. For families where breadwinners are ill and in need of surgery, this intervention not only restores health but enables the breadwinner to continue earning an income to support his wife & children. Subsequently, children's education is paid for and the next generation is better equipped to improve their standard of living.
