Almost $40K Awarded in Scholarships

By David Plath | Development Director

Dear Friend,

Your generosity has helped provide $39,650 in scholarships this past year for children and adults with special needs. Thanks to you, they were each able to enjoy the benefit of 30 weeks of therapeutic horseback riding and other equine assisted services.

For 40 years, Equine-Assisted Therapies of South Florida has helped thousands of children and adults receive the healing benefits of working with horses. Equine assisted services can make a huge difference in the life of someone with special needs. Whether their disability is physical, emotional, or mental, horses can provide a connection that transcends conventional therapies in a clinical setting and offers a chance for them to experience life without limits.

In April, we will welcome back our participants for the 10-week Spring session. Of the 52 individuals registered, 60% qualify for a financial hardship scholarship. Your gifts provide for their session fees and assist with the care and feeding of our 12 horses; help offset the cost of Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors and Equine Specialists that teach lessons; and provide our volunteers with valuable training that helps to make our programs possible.

We thank you for your support of individuals that need it most. You have helped to pave the Path to Independence for those that come to our barn. We ask humbly you to consider supporting scholarships for our neediest families so their loved one can continue to experience the magic of horses throughout the coming year.

With deepest appreciation,

David
