Turning Waste into Resource for Women in Rawlpindi

Dear All,

This project is ready to begin, and we are inviting you to help make it possible.

In Rawalpindi, many women manage households under growing pressure from rising food costs and limited income opportunities. At the same time, organic kitchen waste is discarded every day, dumped in garbage creating smell and disease contributing to urban flooding as well and hence despite its potential to become a valuable resource.

This project aims to connect these realities by training women to turn household waste into nutrient-rich compost, grow healthy food, and earn income through compost sales.

In the pictures and video shared with this update, you will meet a passionate lady already trained by Shehersaaz. She now produces and sells compost and is prepared to train other women in her community. Her experience shows what is possible when women are given practical, affordable skills, waste becomes value, and knowledge becomes independence.

Although no donations have been received yet, the community interest is strong and the trainers are ready. With your support, we can launch hands-on training sessions, provide basic composting materials, and support women as they take their first steps toward financial independence and food security.

Your contribution can help women in Rawalpindi turn everyday waste into income, nourishment, and resilience. We encourage you to donate and be part of this women-led solution for a healthier, more sustainable future.
